WESTFRIESLAND – The fourth edition of the sports event IRONMAN Westfriesland will take place from June 23rd to 25th, 2023. IRONMAN Westfriesland is a triathlon where participants swim, bike, and run. The swimming and running take place in Hoorn, while the cycling course runs through two or more municipalities in Westfriesland.
Throughout the entire weekend, there are four activities and competitions scheduled. In addition to the three triathlon races on Sunday: IRONMAN 70.3, IRONMAN 5150, and IRONMAN 4:18:4, there are IRONKIDS races for youth up to 15 years old on Friday afternoon.
Location
Unlike previous concepts, the start and finish will not take place on Oostereiland but around Julianapark in Hoorn. For the triathlon races, the swimming start is at WSV Hoorn, the transition zone is in the adjacent fields of Hvv Hollandia, and the finish is also in Julianapark, between the fields of Hvv Hollandia and the outer harbor.
