WESTFRIESLAND – On Sunday, 22 June 2025, the sixth edition of the IRONMAN Westfriesland sports event will take place. IRONMAN Westfriesland is a triathlon, where participants swim, cycle, and run either a half or quarter triathlon. The swimming and running take place in Hoorn, while the cycling route runs through two or more municipalities in West Friesland.
The entire weekend features three activities and competitions. In addition to two triathlon races on Sunday: IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN 5150, the Kids of Iron races (formerly IRONKIDS) for youth up to age 15 will be held on Saturday. The IRONMAN Westfriesland 70.3 and 5150 were sold out months in advance. Registration for Kids of Iron is still possible until the registration closes on the website.

Locations
This year, the start is in the historic harbor of Hoorn. The swim start is at the Oude Doelenkade with a swim exit in Julianapark. The transition zone remains the same as in previous editions and takes place again on the side fields of Hvv Hollandia. The finish and registration tent are at the new city beach (Stadsstrand) of Hoorn. There is plenty of space here for a great finish and a warm welcome for participants with expo area.

Spectators
During the event, IRONMAN Westfriesland welcomes participants from the region, the Netherlands, and even abroad. They warmly invite you to cheer them on with your neighbors or fellow residents. You can decorate the street and/or stand or sit along the course on the day to encourage the participants. Due to the heat, a garden hose offering extra refreshment is especially appreciated by many runners. In the finish area at the Stadsstrand, there is space for spectators to cheer at the finish line.
